Rigid-Flex Circuits
These circuits are created to accommodate the entire conductor pattern of an electric circuit within one component. A Rigidflex can consist of flexible circuit(s), which is then bonded to a stiffening material in specific location(s) with plated through holes. These provide an option when flexibility is needed in a portion of the circuit, while utilizing a rigid portion in the balance of the circuit design.
The Rigid-Flex circuit is ideal for today's packaging requirements which requires components to be mounted on both sides of the circuit, while still requiring the flexibility to bend the circuit within the tight package constraints.
